Make a Donation
MEMORIAL AND GIFT DONATIONSAre you looking for a special way to preserve the memory of a loved one? Do you want to celebrate an occasion or achievement? Struggling to find a gift for the person “who has everything?”
The Chicago Ridge Public Library accepts monetary donations for the purchase of books and other library materials.
You can also make a general donation to the Friends of the Chicago Ridge Library. The Friends sponsor numerous programs for both children and adults.
Contributions are tax-deductible and offer a lasting tribute the entire community can enjoy.
A librarian will work with you to select titles of books with the honoree’s interest in mind. Once the book has been selected, an acknowledgment will be sent to you and the person or group being honored. The item bears a bookplate with your name and the honoree’s name and the occasion being commemorated.
Below are examples of previous tributes:
- memorial to a friend or relative
- birthday or anniversary remembrance
- book honoring an elected officials’ term of service
You may add books or other materials to the library on specific subjects of your choosing, such as birds, fish, or other animals gardening, cooking or other home crafts World War II, or other historical events art, antiques, or other subjects of interest.
Memorial and Gift Donations forms are available at the library or can be downloaded here.
MATERIAL DONATIONSThe Library, at the discretion of staff, may accept gifts of books and other circulation materials. The Library will not make an appraisal of the value of any materials donated and reserves the right to make the final decision as to the disposition of the material.
