Reading Programs

Join our 2026 Summer Reading Program

Unearth a story at the Chicago Ridge Public Library this summer! Read, get swag and enter raffles for prizes. Through August 14. Sign up in the library or through Beanstack.

For Adult Readers

There are two ways to participate in our summer reading program! Stay classic and read up to 10 books; receive a t-shirt and 5 raffle tickets after you’ve read 5 books (while supplies last) and read 5 additional books and receive 5 more raffle tickets. Develop a reading habit and track the days you read – win a small prize and a raffle ticket for every 7 days, receive a t-shirt on day 14 (while supplies last).

For Youth and Teen Readers

For kids ages newborn through grade 5, read 30 books and receive a prize for every 5 books that you read. For teens in 6th-12th grade read 6 books and receive a prize for every one book that you read. Receive guess forms and drawing tickets for books read. Age-appropriate prizes are available for under 3 years.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Pick up a folder in Youth Services and take the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge! After each 100 books read, pick up a prize for you and your child! This program is for newborns & toddlers who have not yet entered kindergarten. To start logging your child's books virtually use Beanstack.

100 Books Before Graduation

Calling all teens in grades 9-12! We have a reading challenge just for you. Join our 100 Books Before Graduation reading program where you will read books at your reading level and you will receive a prize at milestone 25, 50, and 75. Once you reach 100 books, there will be a bigger prize. See a Youth Services staff member to sign up and for more information.
